Transmission 00 • The Origin File
What IsThis Place?
And what exactly did I discover in here? Ten years of notes, dreams and stories, finally pointed in the same direction.
No, this is not undiagnosed multiple personality disorder. Not schizophrenia either. Just a colorful mind, finally let off the leash and enhanced by AI agents.
It started as an idea
A Decade of Notes-to-Self
For years I've been working on an autobiography. Mostly by accident. I kept writing things down: journals, dream journals, the good stories and the strange ones. Notes on my iPhone. Physical notebooks. Emails to myself. (Doesn't everyone keep a couple of Gmail drafts as reminders?)
Ten years of that adds up. Not to a book, exactly. To a pile. A big, disorganized, honest pile of who I was at every stage, plus a fair amount of what I dreamed I was.
Nobody ever reads the pile.
From dreams to ink
The Pictures Came First
Alongside the words, I'd been making concept art for years, trying to drag the images out of my dreams and memories before they faded. Faces I couldn't place. Rooms I've never been in. A sheriff who only shows up in noir lighting.
Then the comics started, as a way to actually show the stories and the dreams instead of just describing them over a beer.

Where the road bent
The Original White Orb
Before the multiverse had a name, there was a guy walking down an empty highway toward a glowing white orb. That image stuck. It grew into a place, the White Orb Café, and a story that refused to stay small.
White Orb runs as short stories here for now. It's headed for a full-color graphic novel.

Some of these stories actually happened. Others actually happened in my dreams.
One life • Many worlds
Why a Multiverse?
I've been chewing on the multiverse idea for years, because it solves the autobiography problem. This isn't an autobiography in the strict, definitive sense of the word. It's a loose one, where my imagination and my dreams get a seat at the same table as what really happened.
Both count.
The mining operation
Enter the AI Agents
AI let me mine an entire decade of inner thoughts, experiences and dreams, and turn them into stories that actually work. Usable concepts for comics instead of a drawer full of fragments.
Several characters came out the other side, each one carrying a different stage of my life, real and imagined. You can meet them all in the Worlds section. A lot of it is stolen content, recycled somewhere in the deep recesses of my mind. Every story is a remix of something. This one's mine.
The first graphic novel • Complete
A graphic novel by Aaron ThiesThe Hounds of God
Swedish Livonia, 1691. An old man stands before the court and tells the judges, plainly, that he is a werewolf. And that he fights for God.
This is the first full graphic novel to come out of the pile, and the first one finished. It's built on the record of a real trial: Thiess of Kaltenbrunn, in his eighties, swearing that he and the other werewolves of the parish crossed into hell three nights a year to drag the harvest back from the witches.
The court couldn't make him take it back. Five acts later, you'll understand why.
Hardcover printed on demand through Lulu. Coming soon.
