Moab Mayhem & Miracles: My 2024 Cruise Moab Recap
Another year, another Cruise Moab in the books! This event never disappoints, blending breathtaking scenery with mechanical challenges and the kind of camaraderie only found amongst fellow Land Cruiser fanatics. This year, it was a special kind of chaos.
The $500 Gambler Special: My Unsung Hero
My weapon of choice for this year's assault on Moab? My trusty $500 Gambler Toyota. People looked at it sideways, questioned its life choices, but you know what? This humble rig was the only car I’ve ever driven to Moab and not had a single problem with. It crawled, it flexed, it surprised everyone (especially me) and truly earned its stripes.
Hamberger Hill & Happy Boone: The Usual Suspects
We hit all the classics. Hamberger Hill delivered its usual dose of pucker-factor, and Happy Boone offered up some technical lines that tested even the most seasoned drivers.
Solid Axle Shenanigans & Field Fixes
Of course, it wouldn’t be Moab without some trail carnage. We watched a buddy's solid axle 100 series shear its top panhard bar mount clean off! But this is Moab, and with the right crew, problems just become opportunities for ingenuity. It was awesome to watch it get fixed on the trail, a true testament to the Land Cruiser community's resourcefulness.
The Glamorous Life: Tarp Naps & Trail Dust
Sleep? Who needs a bed when you have a tarp and a patch of dirt? Daytime naps under a makeshift shelter were essential to recharge for another round of wheeling. It’s not luxurious, but it’s real Moab.
