Happy BoyIn The Beat
A quick Saturday morning in Belgrade: one very good dog, one familiar blue Spyder, a couple of cool cars, and an early exit because Mom and the farmers market outrank everything.
Coffee in Belgrade
This round of Ressler Cars & Coffee moved out to Belgrade, co-hosted by Personal Warehouse at 105 Copper Ranch Road. Nine to eleven on a Saturday, local coffee and pastries, and a look inside the new warehouse spaces they're building for people who need somewhere to keep the cars their spouses have stopped asking about.
Fresh asphalt, new trees still on their stakes, and a lot that filled up the way these things always do: a little bit of everything, parked nose to tail, with the owners standing around pretending they came for the coffee.
Happy Boy Boone
Let's be honest about who the main event was. Boone rode shotgun in the Beat, which means he sat in a tiny yellow mid-engine convertible with the top down, the sun on his face and his tongue out in the kind of full-body joy most of us only feel on a closed course.
He doesn't know what a kei car is. He doesn't know the Beat makes 63 horsepower. He doesn't care. He knows the seat is his, the wind is his, and every single person who walks by is about to tell him he's a good boy. He's right on all counts.
The zebra-print seats, the little yellow roadster, and a Wirehaired Pointing Griffon grinning over the door. That's the whole brand, honestly.
A Familiar Blue Spyder
Parked right next to the Beat was a face I've seen before: a bright blue Porsche 718 Spyder on gold wheels with red calipers peeking through. It's the kind of spec that sounds loud on paper and looks exactly right in person, especially next to a yellow kei car doing its best impression of a Tonka toy.
The 718 Spyder is Porsche's argument that a mid-engine roadster with a big naturally aspirated flat-six is still the correct answer. The Beat is Honda's argument that you can make the same point with a fraction of the engine. They parked side by side and agreed to disagree.
Down the row: a black old-school four-door M3, the sleeper choice for people who want a family car that bites, a lineup of modern stuff and a couple of cars that deserved a longer look than I had time for.
The Early Exit
Here's the thing about Saturday mornings: the cars will be there next time. My mom and the farmers market have a schedule, and it doesn't wait for anybody's flat-six. So I grabbed my shots, said goodbye to the Spyder, and headed out before the coffee was even cold.
Short visit. Good dog. Good cars. Right call.
Want Your Shots?
If you saw your car here, I can send the photo as a full-resolution JPEG, RAW file or another format that works for you, re-edited or cropped for prints, posters or social media.
Tell me the car and what you need. A rough description is enough.
